Introducing the Field Programmable Standard Product

Emerging markets often lack off-the-shelf products such as ASSPs. As such, equipment manufacturers have to face long internal development cycles, resource-constrained internal development, and the need to acquire stand-alone IP cores from small firms that do not have the resources to adequately validate their products.

Consider the possibility of purchasing a complete FPGA-based solution that is hardware tested and readily available: Avalon provides such Virtual Application Specific Standard Products (VASSPs) for high speed data transport applications. Avalon's IP cores have applications in Ethernet, OTN, and SONET/SDH. Our IP cores support a variety of data rates including 2.5 Gb/s, 10 Gb/s, and 40 Gb/s. Avalon also supports over-clocked applications which enable 100Gb/s applications.

 Avalon supports a variety of FPGA platforms including Altera Stratix II GX, Altera Stratix IV,  Xilinx Virtex 5, Xilinx Virtex 6, Xilinx V2Pro, and Xilinx Spartan 6. Avalon will support any FPGA platforms suitable for high throughput applications.
